About the Author

I’m a Norwegian writer and nonprofit leader, now based in rural Maine. With a background in international development—including fifteen years with the United Nations—and a Master’s in Organizational & Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, I’ve witnessed how global shifts reshape communities, from cities to remote regions.

In 2018, I left diplomacy behind for life on a diversified farm in Maine, where I now focus on the northern U.S.-Canada borderlands. Here, I work to bridge global perspectives with the realities of rural America, designing initiatives that empower communities to build their own resilience.

My writing examines power and how it manifests in our daily lives, where the stakes are both personal and political. i believe in novels with a social conscience and aim to craft stories that feel meaningful—not overly serious, but serious enough to make it worthwhile.

When I’m not writing or working, you’ll find me somewhere in Maine’s great outdoors, discussing policy, or planning the next chapter in an ever-changing world. Possibly all at once.

Harold Greene is my pen name.
